McLean County Glass and Mirror
About Us

The original owners, Lewis Little, Walt Mattingly, and Jerry Little all worked for a local glass shop that went out of business after 70 years serving the Bloomington/Normal area.  After receiving numerous phone calls at their homes from former customers asking for continued glazing work for them, the three decided to continue offering the same superior service and products by forming their own company.

The business was started in one small area of the building that is currently the home of McLean County Glass & Mirror, Inc.  Over the years the company has taken over the entire building as the business has grown.

Within the first year of operation, the company was faced with the untimely death of Walt Mattingly.  We continue to miss Walt's easy-going personality and wry humor.

In 1999 Lew Little retired after more than forty years as a glazier but remains as one of the owners.  Lew began his glazing career in Champaign, IL at the age of 18 when a glass company literally knocked on his door asking if he was interested in working for them.  Walt and Lew's years of service to the local area were remarkable.  To this day we have people asking for Lew and Walt or telling us they were the ones who worked on a particular building.  (We even hear some stories about the two of them and their antics!)

Today, Jerry Little, is the managing owner of the company.  Jerry also has been glazing since the age of 18 and has worked up through the ranks completing a three-year apprenticeship program, working as a glazier and job foreman and now with managing the business.  Jerry's vast experience in new construction, remodeling, and service work provides the expertise needed to effectively manage his employees to meet the needs of our customers.

Currently to assist Jerry is an office manager and four glaziers.  Jerry strongly believes in carrying on the glazing trade and has supported two apprentices through the three-year apprenticeship program.  One of the glaziers successfully completed the program two years ago and the other glazier is in his second year of the program.
